Today we are going to make a super simple and mouth watering Caramel Bread Pudding. It's very easy, quick, eggless and doesn't even require an oven. And the best thing is, it takes only 4 simple ingredients to make - Bread Slices, Custard Powder, Milk and Sugar. Let's get started with this quick recipe that only takes 5 minutes to prepare.
Caramelizing sugar is a very simple but tricky process.
There is a possibility of sugar burning.
So check the stages of caramelization very well.
In a hot pan over medium heat, add the sugar and let it melt.
No need to shake it.
Do not use a spoon or spatula.
Just swirl the pan so that it melts evenly, until it is a deep golden color.
Pour the caramel into a glass bowl or baking tin (in which you will make the pudding) and spread it evenly quickly, as it will harden as it cools.
To make pudding you need 6 breads, 3 tbsp custard powder, 1/2 cup sugar and 2 cups milk.
Bread and custard will help thicken the milk.
To make pudding, blend milk, custard powder, sugar and bread (cut into pieces) well in a blender jar.
Now pour the mixture in a high pan and boil it well.
Keep stirring when it thickens a bit.
So that no lumps are formed.
Whisk the mixture until it becomes very thick.
Now pour the thick mixture into the mold.
Remember that the caramel will be on the bottom and the mixture on top.
Tap it slightly, so that the mixture sets well.
Take a kadhai and place a stand at the base.
Then pour water.
Cover the pot with aluminum foil and place it on the stand.
Turn on the gas and close the lid of the pan. Cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
Take out the bowl and remove the foil.
Cool and refrigerate for 2 hours.
When the pudding has cooled, gently press the sides down from the bowl.
Place the plate on the bakeware and invert it.
Tap lightly and carefully lift the mold.
